Founded in 1948, Alfa Wassermann SpA is a leading company in the Italian pharmaceutical market for the research, production and sale of both prescription specialty medications and OTC products. With a workforce of over 670 employees it acts also as the holding company for the group. The Headquarters are located in Bologna, the Manufacturing Division is in Alanno (Pescara) and the International Division is based in Milan. Having invested in research, over 60% of the group’s turnover derives from its own products. Among these, it is worthwhile mentioning the following drugs that are at the cutting edge of medical care: Normix®, Rifaximin - α, an original compound used for the treatment of gastrointestinal inflammatory and infectious diseases; Fluxum®, a low molecular weight heparin; Vessel®, used in the treatment of vascular diseases; and Dicloreum®, a range of products meant to treat inflammations.
